A.S.Ter Spa (Azienda Servizi Territoriali Genova) is the urban maintenance service company for the city of Genoa, providing road and electrical maintenance, gardens, rivers, and all autonomous services for the maintenance of the company itself. It operates all over the municipality boundaries, through the allocation of factories and headquarters in specific and designated municipal areas.
In this feasibility study, a new schema for the allocation of factories and the covered area was requested, including an economical evaluation of real estate investment and purchase, and refurbishment of the current proprieties.
Parallel to this economic evaluation, a strategic distribution of Aster services was established in a new strategic layout that takes into account the dimensional requirements of operational services and the morphologies of the buildings in which these services can be allocated.
This type of study involved the participation of various professionals and required a multidisciplinary approach to link architectural solutions to the company's strategic planning.
Considering the service that must be spread on the municipality boundaries, three “axes of operations” were
defined to ensure the right percentage of covering.
The main goals include:
a sustainable transformation of the company through optimization of the services in terms of travelling time and energy consumptions;
the used sqm in buildings and the distribution of people on grounds;
a collaborative approach with the other municipal companies of urban services;
