Baglietto Un Sogno Sul Mare is a traveling exhibition that recounts 130 years of history of the Baglietto Shipyard, a story that began in Varazze (SV) in 1854 and spread all over the world. Stories of men and boats told with archival material, a work that required also meticulous research, selection and cataloguing.
The idea of the installation comes from the geometry of the first place that hosted it, the Renaissance space of the “Sala delle Compere” of Palazzo San Giorgio in Genoa, located in the heart of the port and the historic center: a 134 cm module measured between the solids and voids of the perimeter walls of the Sala which was used to design a three-dimensional thin wooden structure that recalls those of a shipyard. The exhibition organizes all the material on display in photographs, drawings, nautical models and period films as if suspended in the threads of the network of memory. The modular structure is designed to be disassembled and reconfigurable in shape and size, adapting to the place where it will be reassembled.
