Born and raised in Genoa, Italy, Margherita studied at the University of Genoa, Faculty of Architecture and at the Ecole D'Architecture de Grenoble, she graduated in Genoa with highest honors in 2005.
After having collaborated with several architectural firms in Genoa, since 2007 she began her international career, which lasted several years, at UNStudio, United Network Studio Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos.
She worked as a project leader for important projects and international competition such as "Centro Polifunzionale Ponte Parodi" Genoa and "Twoufour54 Zone" AbuDhabi.
In 2012 she returned to Genoa, where she decided to continue her professional career by opening her own architectural design business. At the same time she thaught in several universities as a lecturer and from 2014 to 2017 as studio director at EPFL Lausanne, Switzerland.
Since 2019, she has been formally collaborating with Matteo Orlandi for Studio Caligo.
Born and raised in Genoa, Italy, he trained as an architect at the University of Genoa, Faculty of Architecture and at TU Wien (Technical University of Vienna, Austria). He graduated from TU Wien and the Faculty of Architecture in Genoa with 110/lode and publication rights.
After collaborating with some architectural firms in Vienna and Genoa, from 2008 he became project architect at RPBW studio in Genoa (Renzo Piano Building Workshop) where he worked on Italian and international projects also with executive responsibilities until 2016.
Since 2017 he opens on his own the architectural design studio Studio MOA (Matteo Orlandi Architetto) in Genoa and in parallel carries out research, teaching and outreach activities at the University of Genoa, TU Vienna and Tongji University in Shanghai.
Since 2019, he has been formally collaborating with Margherita Del Grosso for Studio Caligo.
